Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant to join our team. As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will work closely with patients to assist them in their exercises or daily functional tasks, correct their form, and motivate them to achieve their goals. You will also be responsible for reviewing and administering individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to create a positive and nurturing environment, and strong skills in exercise progression, balance retraining, and communicating PT concepts effectively to patients. They must also be able to work well in a high-energy environment and make decisions independently.

  • Assist patients in their exercises or daily functional tasks by correcting their form and motivating them
  • Review and administer individualized treatment plans for each patient
  • Maintain accurate records for all patients, including their treatment and progress
  • Assist patients using support devices such as walkers, canes, or wheelchairs
  • Mentor and encourage patients going through major life changes, providing positive support and advice
  • Maintain all equipment, ensuring a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a current Hawaii State license for physical therapy assistance and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You must also be able to create a positive and nurturing environment, and have strong skills in exercise progression, balance retraining, and communicating PT concepts effectively to patients.
