Job Description

Ryder is seeking a skilled Mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy-duty trucks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, brake and tire work, and diagnostic repairs
  • Identify and repair issues with diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance and advanced skilled level repairs
  • Work independently and as part of a team to ensure quality of repair work and customer satisfaction
  • Interact with customers to facilitate preventative maintenance, repair issue resolution, and discuss new repair estimates
  • Coordinate work schedules and road test vehicles to identify cause of complaints for repairs
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Non-Commercial Driver License CLASS E, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • Other State driver's license, as required
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Two (2) years or more experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment
  • Able to take home assigned mobile service truck, as applicable, and secure vehicle and contents
  • Must be able to drive Ryder vehicles
