Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for examination, phlebotomy, and injections
  • Assist providers with entering medication, laboratory, and radiology orders
  • Schedule diagnostic tests and make and receive phone calls
  • Provide patient and family education to ensure adequate knowledge and awareness
  • Perform telephone triage to determine patient needs
  • Maintain work areas to ensure healthy environmental conditions
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Successful completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • 6 months previous medical assistant experience preferred
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire
