Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Ochsner Health System. As an LPN in our ENT Clinic, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct care to assigned patients, including IV therapy, within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.
  • Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff with assigned duties and interact with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel.
  • Demonstrate professional responsibilities and be responsible for own practice, assisting other members of the healthcare team in providing the highest quality personalized patient care.
Requirements
  • Current licensed practical nursing (LPN) license in the state of practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Preferred: IV therapy credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and self-directed, demonstrating good judgment.
  • Good interpersonal and delegation skills.
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Work Environment

The incumbent works in a patient care area, works in an area where patients enter, works directly with patients, and/or works with specimens that could contain communicable diseases. There may be an occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases. Because the incumbent works within a healthcare setting, there may be an occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste within the environment through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning, and/or disposal of contaminated waste.
