We are currently seeking a full-time Onsite Calibration Technician to travel to various client locations throughout New England, originating from our Chelmsford, MA laboratory. This role involves the calibration of a diverse range of testing and measurement instruments, as well as process and temperature control devices.

Key Responsibilities:- Conduct all calibrations in accordance with established procedures and recognized industry standards.
- Ensure that all tasks align with our mission of quality, capability, and timeliness.
- Verify that all standards utilized are within their calibration due dates prior to use, and return standards to the laboratory when recalibration is necessary.
- Adhere to the Essco Quality System.
- Complete each assigned task punctually while ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Document and assess the outcomes of calibrations performed.
- Report to clients and document any discrepancies related to their equipment, including but not limited to: out-of-tolerance conditions, performance limitations, and damage.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and participate in team meetings.
- Propose training programs and cross-training opportunities.
- Stay informed and trained on evolving industry standards and processes.
- Maintain high ethical standards and deliver outstanding customer service.
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
- Strong communication skills to understand client needs and foster customer relationships through excellent service.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage a busy schedule effectively.
- Basic IT setup skills for configuring laptops and printers at client sites.
- Awareness and compliance with client safety protocols, prioritizing safety in all tasks.
- Perform calibrations safely, accurately, and promptly, adhering to Essco and client-specific procedures.
- Responsible for the proper handling, transportation, and maintenance of both Essco and client equipment.
- Identify project supply and equipment needs and communicate them to the appropriate resources.
- Complete timesheets and expense reports daily with accurate details.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma (required).
- Three years of experience as a technician.
- PMEL training or equivalent formal technical training (preferred).
- Ability to apply metrology experience to a wide range of electronic and mechanical instruments.
- Familiarity with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and ANSI/NCSL Z-540 standards.
- Proficient in using lab management software.
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills.
- Ability to walk, climb, or balance as needed.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 85 pounds.
- Significant daily driving in a personal vehicle.
- Client locations may include professional laboratories, clean rooms, or manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to moving mechanical parts, pressurized cylinders, chemicals, and high voltage power.
- Noise levels typically range from quiet to moderate.
