Job Overview

Position Summary

The Housekeeper plays a crucial role in ensuring that guest rooms, hallways, and common areas are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and appeal. Responsibilities include daily servicing of guest rooms in line with hotel protocols, restocking supplies, changing bed linens, and replenishing amenities while adhering to company policies and safety regulations. This position may also involve undertaking deep cleaning tasks and assisting with preventative maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with guests and colleagues in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain consistent attendance in accordance with company standards, adapting to the hotel’s scheduling needs.
  • Uphold high standards of personal grooming and appearance, including wearing the designated uniform and name tag.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to promote safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Thoroughly clean and restock the designated number of guest rooms during each shift.
  • Complete all preparatory cleaning tasks, including organizing guest supplies and cleaning materials for the housekeeping cart.
  • Remove all waste and soiled linens from guest accommodations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors or management.
  • May be required to disassemble furniture or items in guest rooms for deep cleaning purposes.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess strong service values, with experience being advantageous. Excellent communication skills and reliable transportation are essential. Training will be provided, and prior experience in guest services or the hospitality industry is preferred. Verifiable references are required.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent; experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and evaluate options quickly and accurately.
  • Capability to perform well in high-pressure situations.
