The successful candidate will be responsible for administering medications as ordered by the Medical Director or other qualified medical professionals. They will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of medication received and dispensed, as well as ensuring the safekeeping of all medication stock and records required by regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper procedures are followed in medication ordering, receipt, reconciliation, and reporting
- Keep all medication records organized and prepared for audits
- Administer medication as ordered and maintain accurate accounting of all medication received and dispensed
- Provide supervision and oversight to Licensed Practical Nurses and Toxicology Urinalysis Technicians
- Become proficient in the use of electronic health care records and accurately reconcile daily dosing
- Become proficient with automated dosing equipment and maintain its care, operation, maintenance, and calibration
- Be responsible for the safekeeping of all medication stock and records required by regulatory agencies
- Complete urinalysis toxicology testing, recordkeeping, and reporting as directed
- Dedicate a minimum of 80% of regularly scheduled work hours to activities directly related to the administration of medication and positive interactions with patients
- Observe, intervene, report, and engage in discussions and determinations of patient treatment plans
- Attend and complete all assigned training
Required Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Oregon
- 1 year experience in acute care, critical care, emergency room, mental health, substance abuse treatment, or correctional healthcare setting preferred
- CPR, First Aid, AED, Universal Precaution experience required
