Substation Engineer Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Substation Engineer to join their team in Spring Valley, NY.

This role offers diverse project management experiences and involves designing and applying utility-grade substation systems. The engineer will support various operations groups, serve on committees, and represent the company at industry meetings.

Substation Engineers handle layout design, drawing reviews, and equipment specifications. They prepare design sketches, cost estimates, and reports, perform various calculations, and support construction projects.

Required Skills & Experience
  • BSEE with 3-5 years in substation engineering or related operations
  • Knowledge of substation layout and major equipment
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Strong communication, analytical, and technical skills
  • Proficiency with IEEE/ANSI Standards and National Electrical Safety Code
  • Analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Effective presentation skills

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
