Work Schedule:
Night Shift: Full-Time, 36 hours per week, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekend and Holiday Commitment:
- Weekends:
- Night shift: Friday-Saturday. Every third weekend.
- Day Shift: Saturday-Sunday.
- Holidays:
- Rotating holidays—two nationally recognized holidays; one "soft" holiday.
On Call Requirements:

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, management, and evaluation of both low and high-risk Antepartum, Intrapartum, and postpartum patients.
- Assist in circulating and recovering patients during and after cesarean deliveries.
- Provide care for healthy newborns.
Essential Qualifications:
- License: Valid Illinois RN license.
- Certification: CPR/BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross). ACLS and NRP certifications required within 6 months of employment. C-EFM certification required within 1 year of employment.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor & Delivery.
- Education: Associate's Degree or higher in Nursing. If holding an Associate's Degree, must obtain a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing within five years of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in an acute care environment is preferred.
Unit Information:
- Beds: 16 labor/antepartum rooms, 3 operating rooms, 5 triage areas.
- Patient Demographics: Pregnant and postpartum individuals.
- Common Conditions: Pregnancy with and without complications.
- Average Deliveries: Approximately 8 deliveries per day.
- Nurse to Patient Ratio: Varies; Postpartum 1:1-2, Antepartum 1:3.
