This position requires significant independence and decision-making authority, serving as a key member of the finance team. The role is responsible for supporting the accounting function for our Early Childhood Program (ECP) and collaborating with the CCG Finance team on the month-end closing process and special projects. Works under the general supervision of the Controller.

Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:

  • Prepare monthly billings for various grants, including inputting drawdowns into government payment systems.
  • Develop and present monthly financial reports for ECP grants and contracts to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review transactions to ensure they are reasonable, allowable, and allocable to the grants or programs they are coded to.
  • Ensure timely recording of revenue, expenses, and release of restrictions related to grants.
  • Perform monthly general ledger account reviews, reconciliations, and analysis as needed.
  • Develop grant budgets and annual grant reporting.
  • Assist with special projects, including preparation of budget worksheets, audit schedules, and various account analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with 3 or more years of accounting experience, CPA a plus.
  • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Nonprofit accounting and governmental accounting experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in Excel spreadsheets required (v-lookups, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Experience with Sage Intacct a plus.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines required.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work well with people, both within and outside of the agency.

Travel and Compliance:

  • Must have a valid driver's license if applicable.
  • Driving record must comply with CCG's automobile insurance carrier requirements.
  • Must have liability insurance coverage and reliable personal transportation.
  • Ability to travel locally or out of town as required.
  • Mileage reimbursement is offered when applicable.
  • Must submit to and successfully pass all required CCG and Partner Program background checks throughout employment. These include FBI, Fingerprinting, Neglect and Abuse, Federal, State, Local, and Sex Offender background checks. Background check requirements may be expanded at the discretion of CCG and Partner Programs.

Physical Demands:

  • Work requires normal physical effort with minimal lifting requirements of items weighing less than 50 pounds.
  • Visual attention.
  • Manual dexterity/coordination.
