We are seeking a skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will work under the direct supervision of a pharmacist to provide pharmaceutical care to patients and perform various technical tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Assist pharmacists in the provision of pharmaceutical care to patients, including filling, compounding, and labeling prescriptions.
- Enter patient information accurately into the pharmacy computer system, including patient demographics and medication information.
- Perform calculations needed for prescription input and dispensing.
- Correctly identify patients prior to dispensing medication and offer patient counseling by a pharmacist.
- Prioritize work to fill prescriptions in order of importance and maintain accurate records.
- Follow department procedures for maintaining drug and supply inventory, including removing expired medications and rotating stock.
- Respond to phone inquiries and walk-up service requests, resolving issues or redirecting them appropriately.
- Pharmacy Technician License in Illinois within 60 days and Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB) or Certified Pharmacy Technician (NHA) certification.
- Previous pharmacy experience or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic computer literacy, reading, math, and phone skills required.
