Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Summer Intern to join our team at Callanan Industries, Inc. in the Capital Region. As an Environmental Summer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including environmental water sampling, property line GIS storage and marking, and mine planning. You will also assist in the development of geological operations plans and aid in yearly environmental reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Collection of different geologic units and their properties, track sampling and how they perform under QC tests.
  • Environmental water sampling
  • Property line GIS storage and marking
  • Mine planning/drone/blast planning
  • Community relationships
  • Inventory of the core, map, and environmental records
  • Geological operations plans
  • Aiding in yearly environmental reporting
  • Updating the site maps and plans
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Qualified undergraduate student enrolled in one of the following degrees or related programs: Engineering, Engineering Tech, or Construction Technology
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure products meet or exceed the requirements of the appropriate agency or customer
  • Correct any deviations in these processed or materials from the requirements
  • Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned
  • Evaluate data for deviations or trends away from accepted standards
  • Maintain test result database; input data
  • Assist internal and external customers in any quality-related matters
