Position Overview:
The Evening Surveillance Officer is responsible for monitoring and reporting on the operational status of signage and lighting within a designated area. This role involves driving through specific routes to identify and document any service-related issues.
Key Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the Evening Surveillance Officer include:
- Conducting regular vehicle patrols along a set route to assess the condition of signage and lighting systems. Mileage reimbursement is provided.
- Recording outages by capturing photographs and noting relevant details according to established protocols.
- Mapping the locations of signs and identifying any outages or service needs.
- Estimating the extent and nature of service issues and communicating findings to the supervisor.
- Coordinating with other departments, store managers, and business owners to relay important information.
- Planning efficient travel routes to ensure comprehensive coverage of the assigned area while optimizing time management.
- Maintaining accurate records and logs of observations and activities.
- Performing routine cleaning and maintenance on company vehicles as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
As needed, the Evening Surveillance Officer may:
- Assist the Night Patrol Supervisor with various tasks.
- Create maps to aid technicians and contractors in locating service issues.
- Deliver necessary parts to designated locations.
- Undertake other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:
This position requires regular interaction with supervisors and colleagues in both field and office settings to discuss potential service leads and operational challenges.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- A minimum of a high school education or equivalent experience.
- A valid state-issued driver's license in good standing.
- The ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence.
- Effective communication skills for presenting information in various settings.
- Competence in interpreting safety guidelines and operational manuals.
- Strong observational skills and the ability to drive safely.
Physical Requirements:
The work environment may involve the use of personal or company vehicles. While performing job duties, employees may be required to sit for extended periods, utilize computers for data entry, and communicate via telephone. The role may also involve frequent use of hands for handling equipment and the ability to see clearly at a distance.
