The State of Indiana is seeking a highly skilled District Testing Engineer Supervisor to oversee the quality control and quality assurance of materials used in highway construction and maintenance within the district. This critical role ensures that all materials meet the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) standards, policies, and safety procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the district laboratory and production labs to ensure accurate and reliable testing results.
- Manage the certification process for construction materials, investigating performance issues and coordinating with central office on policy updates.
- Oversee the testing department's budget, resources, and personnel, ensuring adherence to state and federal requirements.
- Develop and implement training programs for technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality control issues.
- Civil Engineer with a B.S. degree and a valid Indiana driver's license.
- Licensed as a registered professional engineer in Indiana.
- Two years' experience as a group or project leader providing work direction and training to engineering technicians and/or lower-level engineers.
- Strong knowledge of civil/transportation disciplines, including department design standards, policies, and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications, define problems, collect data, and communicate with stakeholders.
