Job Opportunity for Licensed Practical Nurses

Eklego is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to join our team of nursing professionals working in a direct-hire position in the Rochester, NY area. We have full-time and part-time opportunities available, working closely with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of RNs to provide nursing oversight to a smaller group of residential sites.
  • Support the RN in overseeing medical care, paperwork, training, reinforcement of education, data collection, and medication passing.
  • Reinforce teaching of health-related topics and medical tasks, such as diabetes and insulin injections, medication administration, and respiratory treatments.
  • Observe for signs and symptoms of dysfunction, document, and collaborate next steps of care with the RN.
  • Advocate for individuals while in the hospital and provide end-of-life care within the residential setting.
  • Provide input to the RN for formulation and implementation of the care plan to meet the needs of each individual.

Requirements:

  • New York State Department of Education licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • Valid NYS Driver License.
  • Long-term care experience and experience supporting people with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Flexibility of scheduling with the ability to work evenings and weekends.
