Job Summary

This is a full-time, non-tenure track position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2024. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a background investigation consistent with the policy of the University System of Georgia. Responsibilities
  • Teach courses in the discipline area of History, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Develop and design curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensure student engagement.
  • Provide advising and academic support to students, maintain classes-related records, and assess student coursework.
  • Collaborate and support colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum: Master's degree in History or a related field, with 18 hours of coursework in History or a related field.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level in traditional classroom settings.
  • An established research interest to seek publications in refereed journals and other scholarly outlets.
  • A commitment to student engagement and academic excellence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, participate in departmental and university activities, and mentor students.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Earned Ph.D. from an accredited institution.
  • One or more years of experience in teaching and research.
  • Ability to interactively engage students to develop their critical thinking skills.
  • Skill in communication at all levels and student mentoring.
