Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Analyst specializing in Program Control, you will be an integral part of our finance team, supporting various programs. This role is ideal for motivated professionals with experience in diverse contract types within federal contracting or commercial sectors. The position offers flexibility in work arrangements.
Core Duties Include:
- Analyze and interpret contract stipulations to ensure adherence to financial obligations and deadlines.
- Oversee the establishment and management of billable projects within the accounting framework (Unanet ERP).
- Generate essential cost and CDRL reports, including spend plans and cost status updates.
- Develop and maintain budget and forecasting models to align with project and annual operating plan requirements.
- Implement revenue recognition strategies and conduct monthly variance assessments.
- Monitor and document direct material expenditures for project reporting and stakeholder communication.
- Assist in pricing strategies as necessary.
- Identify and manage program risks and opportunities.
- Review and authorize direct cost purchase requests.
- Prepare documentation for travel request approvals.
- Track subcontractor costs, schedules, material receipts, and outstanding commitments.
- Process advanced spending approvals as required.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate billing and manage unbilled and aging accounts.
- Engage with customers and internal stakeholders as needed.
- Work closely with program managers and directors to review financial statuses and strategize effectively.
- Provide financial insights to program managers to inform decision-making.
Success Metrics: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following within specified timeframes:
- Within 30 days: Show initiative in fulfilling contract requirements and complete all necessary training.
- Within 60 days: Exhibit a thorough understanding of BlueHalo policies and effectively apply this knowledge to contract obligations.
- Within 90 days: Operate with a degree of autonomy, consistently delivering high-quality and timely outputs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting with 6-8 years of relevant project control experience; or a Master's degree with 4 years of experience.
- In-depth knowledge of federal contracting principles, practices, and procedures in relation to finance and accounting.
- Proficient in Excel (including advanced functions such as Index & Match, Pivot Tables, Nested IF Statements, V-Lookups, and Sumifs).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Must be a US Citizen eligible for security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA with 4 years of project control experience.
- Experience with CostPoint and PowerBI is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Unanet is a plus.
- Three years of experience in proposal pricing development, including cost/price, scheduling, and resource analysis.
- Experience in creating database queries.
- Knowledge of indirect rates and their application with three years of experience.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and analytical, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to translate client needs into effective business solutions.
This position may require a Security Clearance. US Citizenship is mandatory.
