Overview
The Senior Director of Operational Strategy will be responsible for harmonizing the Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) cycle into a unified and actionable production strategy that caters to various intricate aerospace initiatives across a multi-location production framework. This role entails leading the production planning and control division, ensuring the development, upkeep, and execution of the industrial strategy, alongside forecasting and demand & capacity assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in production planning and control within the aerospace sector. They should demonstrate the ability to work independently to meet objectives, mentor and oversee a team, and promote operational excellence and ongoing enhancement of production planning methodologies. Comfort in a development and prototype setting, along with the agility to adapt plans as required to support various programs, is essential.
In terms of organizational structure, the Senior Director will report directly to the Vice President of Production and will play a pivotal role within the multi-site leadership team. They will also engage with the quality assurance division. This leadership position will oversee a team of 2 or more professionals, necessitating regular interaction with all organizational levels, from executives to temporary staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and sustaining Integrated Production planning and SIOP contributions.
- Coordinating planning elements to support the program's integrated master schedule.
- Executing and refining forecasting methodologies within the Production system and SIOP framework.
- Integrating and applying standards and best practices (process and tools).
- Providing leadership and guidance for the Operations division, aligning efforts with the overarching mission and vision.
- Facilitating integration among key stakeholders from various business areas and functions, including Program Management, Master Scheduling, Finance, Business Development, and Supply Chain teams.
- Maintaining close collaboration with Manufacturing and Installation teams.
- Working alongside senior management, engineering teams, project managers, and other stakeholders to define and implement strategic initiatives.
- Utilizing forecasts and departmental capacities to ensure milestones and final outputs are achieved.
- Creating and managing production plans for materials planning and SIOP.
- Ensuring operational data (Job orders) remains accurate throughout the lifecycle of a master production plan and job orders, providing real-time visibility for all projects.
- Executing and refining forecasting processes within the ERP system and SIOP framework.
- Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing or Engineering disciplines, coupled with a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience and at least five years in a managerial role. PMP Certification is preferred. Experience in the aerospace sector or aircraft interior industry is required.
