As a vital member of the Surgical Services team, the Registered Nurse First Assistant plays a crucial role in the Operating Room, particularly within the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This position offers a competitive sign-on bonus of up to $30,000.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to surgeons throughout surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care.
- Position patients effectively to enhance surgical visibility while prioritizing comfort and safety.
- Execute physician orders to facilitate visualization of the surgical site, employing techniques such as tissue manipulation, retraction, sponging, suctioning, and irrigation.
- Implement appropriate methods to achieve both temporary and permanent hemostasis.
- Assist in closing body planes, applying wound dressings, and securing drainage systems.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a Registered Nurse credential from the Texas Board of Nursing prior to the start date.
- Certification as a Registered Nurse specializing in Operating Room preferred.
- Certification as a Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant is also preferred.
Education:
Diploma from an accredited nursing school or equivalent professional licensure is required at the time of hire.
