Position Overview:

The Regional CaseMix Specialist plays a crucial role in managing services for residents under managed care and Medicare, ensuring both efficiency and high standards of care. This role encompasses the coordination of admissions and discharges, advocating for the needs of residents and their families, and acting as a key liaison with insurance providers and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruct facility personnel on Medicare and Medicaid regulations
  • Perform audits to ensure adherence to policies
  • Offer expertise on MDS coding practices
  • Oversee the work of Casemix Managers
  • Guarantee quality care for residents
  • Encourage effective communication among staff

Qualifications:

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program
  • Possession of a valid RN/LVN license
  • At least 5 years of experience with MDS
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and relevant online platforms
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Experience with PCC is preferred
