Job Overview

Sterling Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Systems Developer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing innovative manufacturing processes.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have expertise in mechanical engineering principles and practices, with a strong focus on process optimization and improvement. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate existing manufacturing processes and develop new ones that meet product requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs.
  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods.
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provide manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Maintain product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data.
  • Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
