Graduate Nurse Rotational Program: Med/Surg Track

We are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for graduate nurses to launch their nursing careers with our Graduate Nurse Rotational Program (GNRP). This program provides a comprehensive and supportive environment for new nurses to gain valuable experience and develop their skills in a variety of medical-surgical settings.

About the Program

The GNRP is a 14-week program that allows graduate nurses to rotate through various units within the hospital, working alongside experienced nurses to gain hands-on experience and mentorship. This program is designed to provide a broad education in nursing and help new nurses find their right 'home' in the field.

What to Expect

As a GNRP Professional Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing highly competent patient care and treatment while demonstrating empathy and a passion for learning. You will work closely with physicians, other care providers, patients, and patients' families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.

Placement Post-GNRP

Upon completion of the GNRP, placements are determined by participant preference, Hiring Manager preference, and business need through a collaborative matching process at Passavant. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder based on their individual experience and education.

Requirements

To be eligible for the GNRP, you must be eligible for State Board Licensure and successfully pass the examination before beginning this role – or – must have a Temporary Practice Permit and commit to taking the NCLEX examination within 6 months of hire. Completion of UPMC Student Nurse Internship Program or student clinical transitions course at UPMC is preferred.
