Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our High Speed Engineering team at Amphenol TCS. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, and selection of basic hardware components utilizing fundamental mechanical engineering principles, theories, and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop specific elements of High-Speed IO Interconnect and Cable devices or components to meet specified design requirements.
  • Mechanical Analysis: Perform mechanical analyses, including static, dynamic, and heat transfer analyses of mechanical structures, when required.
  • Verification/Validation: Support the fabrication and environmental testing of High-Speed IO Interconnect devices, assist in the design and fabrication of prototype hardware, and support the environmental testing of hardware.
  • Documentation: Generate and review technical content of drawings, engineering specifications, reports, and other documentation associated with the mechanical design.
  • Continuous Improvement: Conduct failure analysis of product returned from field and qualification failures, lead customization efforts on assigned product lines, and provide Mechanical Engineering support to products in production.

Requirements:

  • Education: BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
  • Experience: 3-5 years of electromechanical product design/support experience
  • Skills: Strong Mechanical Aptitude, Familiarity with Structural and Thermal FEA software, Basic electrical theory, Ability to support design and development of hardware to ensure requirements compliance, Proficiency with Solidworks 2018 or higher, Ability to conduct experimentation and basic testing.
