Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Veterinary Nurse to join our Emergency Department as a Triage Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing medical care to patients arriving at the emergency room, prioritizing care based on critical nature and severity of patient's condition, and supporting the treatment floor and emergency service by performing a variety of nursing tasks.
Responsibilities- Provide medical care to patients arriving at the emergency room by using sound technical skills
- Prioritize care based on critical nature and severity of patient's condition
- Support the treatment floor and emergency service by performing a variety of nursing tasks as assigned
- Assist physicians with examinations, emergency procedures, and treatments
- Perform venipuncture, lab procedures, and other diagnostics
- Attention to detail and a calm demeanor
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer skills
- Communicate with clients and team members (verbally and written)
- Fear Free handling: safe, stress-free interactions for team members, clients, and patients
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in veterinary medicine as a Nurse
- Current CVT/LVT/RVT preferred or educational equivalent
- Ability to work Thursday through Saturday, 2pm-2am
- Mid-shift, overnight, and weekend schedules eligible for shift differential
