Part-time Associate (Cashier) Job Description

We are seeking a Part-time Associate (Cashier) to join our Store Operations Team at Smart & Final Extra in Fountain Valley, California.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a store section as assigned, including ordering, receiving, and stocking merchandise, and ensuring proper pricing and rotation of products.
  • Set up advertising and promotional displays, and review invoices for accuracy.
  • Clean and maintain sanitation standards in all interior and exterior areas of the store and parking lot.
  • Operate a cash register, receive payment from customers, and process refunds and transactions.
  • Verify customer eligibility for the sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Offer friendly and knowledgeable assistance to customers, and provide them with current store and product information.
  • Load customer purchases and perform basic bookkeeping duties.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read and write English, interact with the general public and coworkers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, and product pricing codes.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 60 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic PC and Outlook skills.
  • Retail Management Certificate.
