Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and Maintain HVAC Systems
    • Learn locations of all HVAC equipment and how they relate to each building.
    • Maintain and repair all HVAC equipment and components to manufacturers' recommendations.
    • Knowledge of equipment management controls to start, stop, seek status, or change conditions on HVAC systems.
  • Perform Routine Maintenance
    • Make rounds of all equipment in the schools and classrooms to identify and repair any potential problems.
    • Keep systems operational and clean.
  • Troubleshoot and Diagnose Issues
    • Capable of troubleshooting and diagnosing HVAC equipment, boilers, air conditioning equipment, unit ventilators, and package units.
  • Operate and Maintain Boiler Plants and Chiller Plants
    • Knowledge to operate Boiler plants and Chiller plants to maintain system temperatures and equipment runtimes through the Metasys System and Auto-Flame.
  • Service, Install, Repair, Evacuate, Recharge, and Replace Refrigeration Systems
    • Must be able to service, install, repair, evacuate, recharge, and replace refrigeration systems including split systems, chillers, packaged units, ERV Units, etc.
  • Perform Physical Work
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform other physical work inside and outside under varying weather conditions.
    • Ability to work from a ladder.
  • Work with Team Members
    • Ability to work harmoniously with supervisors, maintenance staff, custodians, professional staff, and students.
  • Record Keeping and Reporting
    • Keep records of assignments and produce detailed work reports.
    • Complete work orders accurately in a timely fashion.
  • Follow Safety Protocols
    • Must follow strict safety rules to prevent injury.
  • Additional Duties
    • Responsible for snow removal (plowing) in inclement weather.
    • After hours call-in as needed when necessary or during an emergency when required.
    • Set-up and take-down of facilities as needed for special performances at schools and graduation.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma.
    • HVAC Certificate.
    • CFC Certification.
  • Experience
    • Must have 5 years direct experience in HVAC and boiler operation and maintenance.
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Basic knowledge of BAS Systems for use on our energy management system program and Preventative Maintenance and work order system.
    • Understand the different types of air distribution systems such as VAV, Split System, Uni-Ventilators, etc.
    • Must hold Current Black Seal License or obtain within 1 year.
