Job Description

The Regional Safety Manager will collaborate closely with the business to promote behavioral and organizational progress through effective change management. This role will foster continuous improvement by analyzing data and implementing strategies to reduce risks.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead by example to promote a proactive Safety culture focused on incident prevention, risk reduction, and ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
  2. Observe workplace conditions and partner with leadership to address any health and safety concerns.
  3. Analyze regional safety data to prioritize action based on areas with the highest frequency and risk.
  4. Analyze, review, and coach-the-coach on driver behaviors to minimize employee and company risk.
  5. Review and investigate all vehicle and employee injury-related incidents to determine the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  6. Communicate and assist with claims data gathering for corporate risk and safety.
  7. Partner with regional training to evaluate current and future training needs.
  8. Perform frequent site safety audits to identify hazardous conditions, areas for improvement, non-compliant equipment, and processes at each branch within their assigned region.
  9. Develop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury.
  10. Assist in the delivery of training to employees to drive compliance with OSHA regulations and standards.
  11. Work with Risk, Training, and Operations to promote goals and objectives in the health and safety area that affect the company's business.
  12. Oversee and work with Regional General Managers and Branch Managers to record monthly safety meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • General knowledge/understanding of Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA)
  • General knowledge/understanding of Environment Protection Agency (EPA)
  • General knowledge/understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) & Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • A current valid driver's license
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience
  • Expectations to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2 years' experience managing others
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or related topic preferred
  • Prior experience working in the transportation industry as a Safety Manager or Consultant
