Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Prosthetic and Orthotic Care: Assess patients, formulate treatment plans, implement those plans, and follow up with patients to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide seamless patient care.
  • Device Design and Fitting: Select materials, make cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts to create customized prosthetic and orthotic devices.
  • Patient Education and Support: Instruct patients on the use of prosthetic and orthotic devices, ensuring they understand the benefits and proper care of their devices.
  • Quality and Safety: Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and compliance with Medicare and other governmental regulations.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology; effective communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively as a team member.
