Job Title: Part-Time Instructor Pool - Political Science

We are seeking highly qualified part-time instructors to teach a variety of courses in the Political Science department at Santa Barbara City College. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in political science, government, or international relations, and be able to provide high-quality instruction to students.

Job Summary:

The Part-Time Instructor Pool - Political Science is a pool of part-time instructors who will teach a variety of courses in the Political Science department. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of courses, including introductory and advanced courses in government, politics, and international relations. The instructor will also be responsible for developing and implementing curriculum, assessing student learning, and providing feedback to students.

Responsibilities:
  1. Teach a variety of courses in the Political Science department, including introductory and advanced courses in government, politics, and international relations.
  2. Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
  3. Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  4. Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Masters in political science, government, or international relations, or a related field.
  • OR Bachelor's in any of the above and Master's in economics, history, public administration, social science, sociology, any ethnic studies, Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.).
  • OR the equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching at the community college level.
  • Strong background in political science, government, or international relations.
  • Ability to develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
