JOB TITLE: LGBTQ+ Youth Program Specialist

FSLA Status: Exempt

PROGRAM AREA: Youth Action and Advocacy

Primary Objective: Engage with LGBTQ+ youth in Middle Tennessee by organizing and facilitating programs directly aimed at youth development.

  • Design and execute in-person drop-in sessions for LGBTQ+ middle and high school students.
  • Coordinate summer activities tailored for middle school participants.
  • Assist the youth leadership group, Students of Stonewall.
  • Establish community partnerships to enhance enrichment and career opportunities.
  • Oversee program volunteers and maintain effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure programming adheres to best practices in positive youth development.
  • Organize youth-centric events such as the LGBTQ+ College Fair and Youth Prom.
  • Contribute to the Youth Area at the Nashville Pride Festival.

Community Involvement:

  • Participate in community committees focused on LGBTQ+ youth matters and positive youth development initiatives.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Manage intake and consent documentation.
  • Keep accurate records of participant engagement and attendance.
  • Collaborate with team members and compile relevant data reports.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in direct youth services.
  • Experience working with LGBTQ+ youth populations.
  • Strong understanding of LGBTQ+ issues and identities.
  • Effective public speaking and facilitation skills.
  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms.

Physical Requirements:

The role requires the ability to sit, speak, stand, and walk. Vision capabilities include both close and distance vision.
