The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for a Research Librarian/Assistant Professor position in the William S. Boyd School of Law.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be part of a team of lawyer-librarians who support student learning and faculty scholarship at the William S. Boyd School of Law. They will work closely with individual faculty members on scholarly research, interact with law students, undergraduate and graduate students, and members of the public.
The Research Librarian/Assistant Professor will engage in substantive research, participate in instructional and outreach activities, provide reference assistance to students and other visitors, and contribute to the many activities undertaken at the Law School. They will be supported in their work by law student research assistants employed by the Law Library.
Departmental Profile
The William S. Boyd School of Law is a public, state-supported law school that offers day and evening J.D. programs to over 400 students. The law school is recognized nationally for its lawyering process program, the Saltman Center for Dispute Resolution, and its clinical programs.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school and a master's degree in library or information science from a regionally accredited college or university. Applicants who have a JD degree and will complete the master's degree within a reasonable period of time, or who are enrolled in joint degree programs and will complete the degrees within six months from the date of hire, will also be considered.
