A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNP or PA
In this role, you will collaborate with our healthcare team to deliver diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive services. You will warmly welcome patients, listen to their concerns, review their medical histories, and conduct thorough physical assessments. Your responsibilities will include developing effective patient care plans, interpreting data to create appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic strategies, and implementing health promotion and disease prevention principles.
You may also need to order and interpret laboratory tests and imaging studies. After establishing a diagnosis, you will formulate and execute a treatment plan, which may involve referring patients for further consultations. You will manage minor injuries and perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, casting, and mole excision. Within the scope of the supervising physician's delegated authority, you will prescribe medications as necessary to support the treatment plan.
Focusing on patient-centered care, you will take the time to educate and counsel patients and their families about their treatment options. You will also ensure that all evaluations, care, and services provided are thoroughly documented. The satisfaction of witnessing your patients' recovery and improved quality of life is a rewarding aspect of this role.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certifications:
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Current, unencumbered license in South Dakota
- State Controlled Substance Registration
- DEA registration
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
- Experience with process improvement and quality enhancement methodologies
