About HonorHealth Research Institute (HRI)
Founded in 2005, HRI is integrated within a six-hospital healthcare system in the Scottsdale/Phoenix area, featuring over 100 outpatient clinics. The Cancer Research Division collaborates closely with HonorHealth Cancer Care, providing primary cancer treatment to a significant number of newly diagnosed patients in the region.
As a partner in a locally owned, non-profit healthcare organization with a comprehensive cancer care network, HRI is dedicated to delivering compassionate care and innovative treatment options through clinical research. The Division of Cancer Research is committed to offering access to new clinical trials for patients with relapsed and refractory cancers, working alongside global healthcare partners.
Research Opportunities:
The Division encompasses:
- A Comprehensive Pancreatic Cancer Program delivering multi-disciplinary care from initial diagnosis to advanced disease management.
- A Cutaneous Oncology Program addressing melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers.
- A Phase 1 program actively conducting trials for new medications, immunotherapies, and more.
Clinical Research Oncologists at HRI benefit from a community-based research environment with ample resources and philanthropic backing. Faculty members may also have the opportunity to serve as adjunct faculty at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Phoenix.
Specific Research Positions:
Melanoma/Solid Tumor Cellular Therapy Research: HRI is in search of a Board-Certified Oncologist for the Melanoma and Solid Tumor Cellular Therapy Program, concentrating on advanced skin cancers in partnership with the HonorHealth Dermatology Residency Program, with a particular emphasis on uveal/ocular melanoma through clinical trials and translational research.
Pancreatic Cancer Research: HRI seeks a Board-Certified Oncologist for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Program, which provides treatment options across all disease stages and emphasizes early cancer detection while participating in national cancer networks.
Women's Cancer Research: HRI is looking for a Board-Certified Medical Oncologist to spearhead the drug development initiative for women's cancers, enhancing Phase 2 and 3 research programs and expanding Phase 1 efforts.
Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)/Cellular Therapies: HRI is recruiting a Board-Certified Oncologist to collaborate with the BMT program for cellular therapy, broadening treatment alternatives for hematologic malignancies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical expertise in managing clinical trials.
- Foster relationships with HRI and HonorHealth Cancer Care.
- Oversee clinical trials with a dedicated support team.
- Implement research protocols in compliance with FDA standards.
- Assess patient eligibility for clinical trials.
- Maintain adherence to industry standards.
- Present findings at national conferences.
