The ATE Technician plays a crucial role in the upkeep and management of automatic test equipment (ATE) workstations, encompassing both hardware and software components. This position involves the replacement of outdated test equipment with modern digital alternatives while ensuring that the new equipment maintains the same form, fit, and function as the previous models.
Key ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties- Conduct tests and repairs on electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, and electronic measuring, recording, and indicating instruments to ensure compliance with established standards.
- Assist in the development of calibration standards and procedures.
- Determine the sequence of testing procedures for various instruments based on blueprints, schematics, technical manuals, and other specifications.
- Prepare both standard and specialized laboratory equipment for testing and evaluation of other instruments and test equipment.
- Disassemble instruments and equipment using hand tools, inspecting components for defects.
- Measure parts for conformity with specifications utilizing precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Align, repair, replace, and balance component parts and circuitry prior to reassembly.
- Collaborate with engineers to formulate testing, calibration, repair, and evaluation plans to maintain the precision accuracy of measuring instruments.
A minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in a depot environment servicing test equipment and workstations that were introduced approximately 35 years ago.
This position necessitates a Secret US DoD security clearance.
Preferred SkillsExperience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) compatible with ISO 9001:2018, along with familiarity with ScanCAD, ORCAD, and/or SOLIDWORKS.
Additional InformationEffective communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required, along with the ability to interact effectively with various levels of technical and management personnel.
Compensation: $46.54 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as location, responsibilities, skill set, and experience level.
