About This Role
We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at LMH Health. As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our imaging department.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the mission of Lawrence Memorial Hospital by delivering exceptional patient care and service.
- Explain procedures to patients and families accurately and to their satisfaction, ensuring a positive experience.
- Maintain all equipment in good working order, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and hospital protocols.
- Utilize appropriate equipment and supplies to perform exams or aid in the performance of diagnostic procedures, ensuring compliance with state licensure scope of practice and medical staff-approved protocols.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with all customers, including patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Assist radiologists as needed for the completion of procedures, ensuring seamless collaboration and high-quality results.
- Adhere to standards of care outlined in policy and procedures, as directed by the Medical Director of Imaging Services.
- Maintain certifications, licensure, and job-related competencies and requirements, ensuring ongoing professional development.
- Perform patient examinations proficiently, efficiently, and safely, prioritizing patient comfort and well-being.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient information, adhering to HIPAA guidelines and hospital policies.
- Complete ordered exams and assemble data in folders for radiologists to review, generating accurate exam charges in the radiology computer system.
- Utilize resources to provide the best standard of care for patients in imaging services, staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques.
- Act as a patient advocate prior to, during, and following exams, ensuring their needs are met and concerns addressed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documents pertinent data and patient information completely, adhering to hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
- Review patient history and obtain appropriate orders, ensuring timely and effective care.
- Evaluate images and adjust imaging parameters as needed, ensuring high-quality results.
- Competently perform sterile techniques and administer various gadolinium-based contrast agents, as required.
- Perform IV starts and other procedures as needed, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
- Perform other duties as assigned or needed, contributing to the success of the imaging department and LMH Health.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current BLS certification required.
- ARRT or ARMRIT certification and MR registry within 12 months of employment required.
