Job Overview


As a key member of the accounting team at Cavcohomes, the accounting professionals play a vital role in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial records.

This position involves maintaining the chart of accounts, general ledger, and all related subsidiary ledgers. Responsibilities include processing accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as managing a list of approved vendors. The accounting team collaborates closely with external auditors and financial reporting to uphold compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations.

Role Responsibilities

Staff accountants provide support to senior accounting personnel and controllership functions, which includes:
  • Maintaining the general ledger and reviewing financial statements.
  • Researching accounts and analyzing financial documentation.
  • Creating spreadsheet reports, verifying data, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts and balance sheets.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements and reports, along with monthly closing activities.
  • Contributing to the formulation, assessment, and execution of the operational budget and performance forecasts.
  • Conducting financial audits as necessary.
  • Evaluating existing accounting policies and procedures, proposing enhancements for efficiency.
  • Responding to information inquiries, researching and interpreting data, and addressing accounting and financial queries.
  • Meeting established processing and reporting deadlines.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a related discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical capabilities.
  • The ability to comprehend technical documents and financial statements.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing ERP software is advantageous.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record for occasional travel requirements.
