Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer - Security Specialist to join our team at ProMedica. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, employees, and hospital property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrols and Security Services: Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to provide a visible presence to deter potential security threats.
  • Law Enforcement and Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fires, and other security incidents, and provide assistance as needed.
  • Investigations and Reporting: Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, including accidents, safety hazards, and security breaches, and prepare detailed reports to document findings.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and employees, and communicate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Training and Certification: Maintain current certifications and training requirements, including Basic Peace Officers Academy certification, and participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
  • Education: Associate's degree or 2 years of college preferred; minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; ability to write clear and concise reports; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment; excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid driver's license and clean driving record; Ohio Peace Officer's Basic Training Certification.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time, variable shift position that requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The successful candidate will be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and assist with patient restraints as authorized by medical staff.
