Job Summary

Pennsylvania Medicine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Supervisor to lead our laboratory operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the daily technical and administrative functions of our laboratory sections, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Services: Monitor and oversee the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of test systems, ensuring that laboratory services remain supportive of advances in clinical laboratory testing systems.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work with the Division's Quality Assurance manager to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local government agencies' regulatory requirements, including accreditation and licensure.
  • Fiscal Management: Collaborate with administrative directors to coordinate and manage departmental budgets, ensuring that financial resources are allocated effectively to support laboratory operations.
  • Staff Development: Mentor and develop staff to ensure that they meet personnel qualification requirements, complete annual competencies, and maintain technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Associate of Arts or Science in Biological and Chemical Sciences or related healthcare field, or equivalent with 4 years of clinical lab experience.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biological and Chemical Sciences or related healthcare field, or equivalent with 2 years of clinical lab experience.
  • Must meet requirements as a general supervisor under CLIA-88.
  • Additional education and/or training in management or lab management is preferred.
  • 2+ years' experience managing high-volume clinical labs while meeting superior customer satisfaction expectations is preferred.
