Job Summary

Pennsylvania Medicine is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, advancing medical research, and educating future healthcare professionals. As a Technical Supervisor in our laboratory, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of care and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Services: Oversee the pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of test systems, ensuring compliance with institutional and laboratory policies and procedures.
  • Quality Control and Quality Improvement: Develop and implement a Quality Control/Quality Improvement program, monitoring trends in patient data and quality control data to determine proper instrument/method performance.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the Division's Quality Assurance manager to ensure compliance with federal, state, and accrediting agency regulations, including AABB, CMS, DOH, CAP, CLSI, FDA, FACT, TJC, OSHA, NRC, DEA, and DOT.
  • Fiscal Management: Work with the Administrative Director to coordinate and collate departmental budgets, reviewing monthly expense reports and variance reports to minimize expense variances.
  • Staff Development: Ensure staff meet personnel qualification requirements, complete annual competencies, and participate in continuing education programs to maintain and increase technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Associate of Arts or Science in Biological and Chemical Sciences or related healthcare field, or equivalent with 4 years of clinical lab experience.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science in Biological and Chemical Sciences or related healthcare field, or equivalent with 2 years of clinical lab experience.
  • Meet requirements as a general supervisor under CLIA-88.
  • Additional education and/or training in Management or Lab Management is preferred.
