Job Summary

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. As a LPN, you will provide basic therapeutic nursing care to our residents, working under the direction and supervision of our RNs. You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing resident data, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and responding to emergency situations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide basic therapeutic nursing care to residents, including administering medications and treatments, starting IVs, and maintaining resident charts.
  • Assist RNs and other healthcare team members in achieving desired patient outcomes.
  • Collect and analyze resident data, develop and implement nursing care plans, and respond to emergency situations.
  • Assist with the interview process for new team members and provide education and direction to direct care staff as needed.
  • Communicate facility and departmental information via multiple modalities, including email, bulletin boards, and meetings.
  • Assist in the training and instructing of new personnel, monitor work for accuracy and completeness, and recommend in-service programs on recognized clinical issues and needs.
  • Provide input to supervisory personnel in evaluating progress toward meeting unit goals.
  • Responsible for working with staffing coordinator to create and deploy work schedules and maintaining safe staffing levels.
  • Supervise a variety of personnel actions, including merit recommendations, promotions, and transfers.
  • Monitor and oversee the timely documentation of ADLs for CNA staff.
  • Compile and complete daily unit reports related to resident and staff updates.
  • Monitor and maintain medication carts for OTC and insulin to ensure timely reordering of medications.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a long-term or acute care setting with charge or supervisory experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited professional school with a licensure in Licensed Practical Nursing. IV Certification.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills. Must possess knowledge of computer systems: Microsoft Office modules.
