Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team at ProCare Therapy. As a COTA, you will play a vital role in assisting students in reaching their full potential by promoting independence and enhancing their participation in the educational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with occupational therapists, teachers, and other professionals to develop and implement individualized therapy plans for students with diverse needs.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students as per their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and treatment goals.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' functional abilities and areas of improvement.
  • Assist in designing and adapting classroom activities and materials to enhance students' engagement and skill development.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes students' independence, self-confidence, and social interactions.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjust therapy plans accordingly, and communicate effectively with parents and relevant stakeholders.
  • Implement strategies to address sensory integration, fine motor skills, visual perception, handwriting, and other areas of occupational therapy as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers and staff to ensure a holistic approach to students' education and overall well-being.
Requirements
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license.
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant or related field (preferred).
  • Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development, learning disabilities, and special education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to address students' unique needs.
  • Knowledge of relevant assessment tools, therapy techniques, and assistive technologies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethics.
