Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Technologist to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography (CT) scanners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care
    • Interview patients, explain procedures, and prepare them for examination.
    • Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination process.
  • Imaging Procedures
    • Conduct CT scans using predetermined protocols and procedures.
    • Acquire and review images, and send them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for verification.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Maintain accreditation status with the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards.
    • Perform quality assurance checks on CT scanners and imaging equipment.
  • Communication
    • Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Professional Development
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and procedures.
    • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain certification and licensure.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Graduate of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved Radiological Technology School program required.
  • Certification
    • Registration and certification with the ARRT required.
    • Advanced certification from the ARRT in Computerized Tomography (CT) expected within one year of hire.
  • Skills
    • Basic computer skills and ability to access internet and other programs applicable to Waterbury Hospital procedures.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions

The CT Technologist will work in a fast-paced radiology department, performing CT scans and other imaging procedures. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly with patients and healthcare professionals, and maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.
