We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced CT Imaging Specialist to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing high-quality CT scans and providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care
- Interview patients, explain procedures, and prepare them for examinations.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the scanning process.
- Scan Preparation and Execution
- Schedule tests and determine the most appropriate protocol based on patient history and physician orders.
- Conduct CT scans, acquire images, and review them for quality and accuracy.
- Image Analysis and Reporting
- Send images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for review and verification.
- Assist radiologists in interpreting images and providing diagnostic reports.
- Quality Assurance and Safety
- Maintain accreditation status with the American College of Radiology (ACR) standards.
- Ensure compliance with radiation protection standards and guidelines.
- Communication and Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with the radiology team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
- Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in radiologic technology or a related field preferred.
- Registration and certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
- Skills and Experience
- Advanced certification in computed tomography (CT) from the ARRT expected within one year of hire.
- Proven experience in CT imaging and patient care.
- Strong knowledge of CT exams, interventional procedures, and radiation protection principles.
This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced radiology environment. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
