We are seeking a skilled Culinary Assistant/Server to join our team at Polar Ridge Senior Living Community, a Lifespark Senior Living Community located in North St Paul, MN.
Job SummaryThe Culinary Assistant/Server will be responsible for preparing food in accordance with prescribed resident/tenant diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations. This role will also involve serving as the front of the house point person, providing leadership and direction to the servers, and assisting with onboarding experience for new employees.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident/tenant diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations.
- Serve as the front of the house point person, providing leadership and direction to the servers.
- Assist with onboarding experience for new employees, including assisting with the completion of applicant interviews and being the primary trainer for new culinary assistants/servers.
- Assist with audits and oversight of daily and weekly tasks that should be completed by the culinary assistants/servers.
- Assist and maintain the culinary employee schedule.
- Assist with tracking employee attendance.
- Contribute to operational and service process improvement efforts as needed.
- Practice proper food handling, infection control, and safety control methods.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Experience in a care facility is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of computer systems.
- Ability to relate professionally, positively, and cooperatively with residents, resident's families, and employees.
- Clear understanding that all injuries/accidents must be reported to a supervisor immediately.
- Ability to meet all local health regulations and pass the post-employment physical exam if required.
The Culinary Assistant/Server will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals. The ability to lift, bend, and stand for long periods is required.
