Key ResponsibilitiesThe following duties are essential for success in this role:
- Examine patient records for outstanding laboratory results, reports, and pending orders.
- Triage urgent appointment requests for same-day or double bookings.
- Engage in daily team huddles to enhance communication and workflow.
- Assist in managing inventory and supplies.
- Prepare medical equipment and support physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
As a Registered Nurse, you will:
- Confirm patient complaints and take vital signs as necessary.
- Review active medication lists with patients to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct and document point-of-care tests following established protocols.
- Administer injections as directed by healthcare providers.
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care, including:
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with established nursing standards.
- Planning, articulating, and coordinating patient care and interventions.
Additionally, you will:
- Consider age-specific characteristics and needs in collaboration with the care team.
- Support COVID-19 testing and vaccination efforts.
- Facilitate patient education on chronic condition management.
- Communicate abnormal test results to patients and provide guidance as determined by their primary care provider.
- Incorporate recommendations into individualized care plans and review the After Visit Summary with patients.
- Document patient progress notes in the electronic health record within a 24-hour timeframe.
- Manage patient flow effectively within the primary care clinic.
- Perform CLIA waived tests as required.
- Maintain quality logs for the environment of care.
- Participate in scheduled clinic rounds to uphold care standards.
- Conduct medication management, including reconciliation and patient education on medication regimens, referring to pharmacists as necessary.
- Adhere to infection control standards under the guidance of the Medical Director.
- Must possess a Registered Nurse license from the State of New York.
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or an Associate Degree in Nursing with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
