Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) - PACU

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). As a RN in this role, you will provide exceptional patient care and work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the PACU is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care to patients recovering from anesthesia. This includes assessing patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care in the PACU, including assessing patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure effective communication and care coordination.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest clinical practices and guidelines to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements:
  • Current MA RN license required.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years nursing experience is required.
  • PACU experience required.
  • ICU experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree in nursing, preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence and experience as required by the specific job posting.
  • Certification or advanced training in specialty area preferred.
Work Environment:

The RN works in a variety of patient care environments where there may be exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials such as chemotherapeutic agents, radioisotopes, and radiation.

Caring for patients also involves exposure to human waste and other unpleasant elements.

Other duties may include general cleaning with exposure to dirt, odors, cramped quarters, etc.

RN's may work with angry, agitated, and combative patients.
