KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will play a vital role in a collaborative team dedicated to delivering care and executing treatment activities for patients with renal challenges.
Your responsibilities will include direct patient interaction, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis experience. You will be tasked with collecting patient data before and after treatments, initiating and monitoring treatment sessions, concluding treatments, and obtaining blood samples as per physician directives.
TECHNICIAN DUTIES:Your commitment to quality will be demonstrated through the preparation of hemodialysis machines, thorough cleaning and disinfection post-treatment, and conducting safety checks on equipment while documenting results for quality assurance, ensuring compliance with all established protocols and regulations.
SAFETY AND QUALITY ASSURANCE:Utilizing appropriate safety protocols, including personal protective equipment, you will work under the guidance of a Charge Nurse, adhering to all organizational policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations. Participation in mandatory staff meetings and ongoing educational opportunities is expected.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A genuine interest in healthcare and patient support.
- Prior experience in healthcare settings, particularly in dialysis, phlebotomy, or as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), is advantageous.
- Comfort with mixing acids and bicarbonate in accordance with established protocols.
- Ability to distinguish primary colors.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of the USRC training program approved by the Medical Director, demonstrating competency in the theory and practice of hemodialysis within the designated timeframe.
- CPR certification is required within the specified period or as mandated by state regulations.
- Patient Care Technician certification must be obtained through an accredited state or national program within the stipulated timeframe and maintained in good standing thereafter.

STATE-SPECIFIC CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
California: Must possess a current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) certificate or be enrolled in an approved training program.
Maryland: Must hold a current Certified Nursing Assistants Dialysis Technicians (CNA-DT) certificate or meet specific training program requirements.
New Mexico: Must have a New Mexico dialysis technician certificate or complete an approved training program within the designated timeframe.
Ohio: Must have an Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate or complete an approved training program.
Oregon: Must possess a current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHDT) certificate or obtain a provisional certificate within the specified timeframe.
