Pediatrician - Ambulatory and Hospitalized Patients

Position Summary
Pediatricians at CCHS provide comprehensive medical services to ambulatory and hospitalized pediatric patients. This role involves working as part of a patient-centered medical home care team, providing care to approximately 18-20 patients per full day of clinic.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care to approximately 18-20 patients per full day of clinic as a part of a patient-centered medical home care team.
- Participate in the organization's mission to provide distinctively Christian healthcare.
- Participate in call, including well-baby nursery and after-hours phone coverage, plus other equitably distributed call coverage, as indicated.
- Supervise nurse practitioners or physician assistants, as appropriate, in advising, providing patient care, and reviewing notes; assist in the education and training of medical students and residents.
- Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams, including behavioral and spiritual health, dentistry, nutrition, and nursing.
- Attend staff and medical provider meetings and maintain a level of involvement with the health center committees, as needed, to ensure quality patient care.
- Participate in continuing medical education, including Life Support Training, to maintain the skills necessary to perform physician duties and as required by applicable medical boards and the State.
- Physicians are to participate in peer assessment, performance evaluations/improvement data, and other activities to evaluate and advance quality improvement measures.
- Maintain own physical health required to perform physician duties; maintain current immunizations and up-to-date PPD.
- Document all patient encounters in a timely manner in clinic and/or hospital electronic health record. Address results and clinical communications in a timely manner.
- May perform other duties as assigned by the Site Lead Physician or Chair of Medicine.
