Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate the biodiesel DCS system to monitor and control process variables.
  • Assist with managing and overseeing the production in the biodiesel manufacturing facility.
  • Perform various quality control functions on oil, biodiesel, glycerin, fatty acid, and water.
  • Monitor and continually improve quality control in all aspects of biodiesel operation.
  • Maintain a BQ-9000-compliant production and shipping and receiving system.
  • Inventory process supplies and monitor inventory levels.
  • Perform general facility maintenance and housekeeping, including equipment inspection, repairs, adjustments, and monitoring.
  • Generate daily system reports and follow all safety regulations.
Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 5 years experience in load-out operations and several years of experience in shipping and receiving.
  • Basic computer skills, accounting skills, good written and oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • Forklift Operator Certificate and ability to operate plant computer systems.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, locomotive, pallet jack, pallet wrapper, and rail switches.
  • Working knowledge of soy oil and biodiesel processing as well as BQ-9000 requirements.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic and its application.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines.
  • Be available for work and overtime as required.
Physical Considerations:

This position requires mental alertness at all times to assure safety and accuracy in all functions. There is stress related to meeting production deadlines.

Working Conditions:

This position requires some flexibility in working hours to ensure effective product shipment. The employee will have the ability to move freely throughout the facilities to direct and conduct a variety of activities. The employee will be subject to continuous exposure to marked changes in temperature, humidity, oil, dust, and high noise levels.
