Position Summary

The Synovus Senior Private Wealth Consultant collaborates with a team of wealth management professionals. Individuals in this role are accountable for managing a portfolio of affluent clients while fostering new Private Wealth Management connections. Understanding the significance of each client interaction, team members strive to consistently provide a client experience that reflects their proactive approach to discerning clients' needs and delivering tailored solutions. They adhere to a structured methodology grounded in financial planning: 1) Comprehend clients' priorities; 2) Evaluate current circumstances; and 3) Utilize the PWM team effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Primarily accountable for the effective management and growth of a portfolio of affluent relationships, targeting clients with a combined income and liquidity of at least $750k.
  • Develops and oversees intricate, comprehensive, integrated relationships for Private Wealth Management, including the management of loan portfolios and financing strategies.
  • Creates sustainable, long-term solutions to meet the unique requirements of existing and prospective clients; leverages financial planning services as needed; provides guidance and counsel in areas such as banking, lending, personal trust and estate services, investment management, insurance, and retirement planning.
  • Delivers a comprehensive Wealth Management experience by specifically identifying and addressing the client's priorities while effectively engaging Synovus Private Wealth Management experts.
  • Typically dedicates a significant portion of time to core banking and lending functions (administrative, regulatory, transactional) while ensuring a client experience that reflects an understanding of their needs and proactive considerations regarding wealth management challenges, opportunities, and solutions.
  • Educates clients with the insights necessary to make informed decisions regarding their goals and objectives.
  • Implements a structured approach to delivering an exceptional client experience through regular Relationship Assessment Reviews (evaluating the current state of client priorities, loyalty, and proactive strategy development).
  • Actively engages in Private Wealth Management team collaborations, partnering with subject matter experts on behalf of clients.
  • Analyzes clients' financial and credit requirements and recommends suitable company products/services.
  • May authorize loans and terms within designated limits, consulting with management on larger or more complex loans; monitors existing loan portfolios to identify unfavorable trends and ensure compliance with terms.
  • Maintains active involvement in the community, networking to identify and leverage new business development opportunities.
  • Aims for the highest regulatory ratings; adheres to all compliance requirements.
  • May mentor, train, and evaluate the work of less experienced relationship managers.
  • Each team member is expected to be vigilant regarding risks within their functional area, adhering to all policies, procedures, laws, regulations, and risk limits specific to their role. They should report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority promptly.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
  • 5-7 years of relevant banking experience.
Certifications:
  • Series 7; Series 66 (or both Series 63 and 65) Licenses; Variable Annuity License; State Life, Accident and Sickness License (to be obtained within 12 months of assuming the role).
  • This position requires successful registration and issuance of a unique identification number from the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) in compliance with the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 (SAFE ACT). Registration must be completed within an established timeframe after initial employment and includes a nationwide fingerprint check.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience in Private Wealth Management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of investments and financial markets.
  • Thorough understanding of key planning issues affecting affluent and high net-worth individuals.
  • Proven competency in developing and delivering effective personal and business solutions in diverse and complex situations.
  • Strong lending and credit experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and address sensitive personal inquiries.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of retail banking operational policies, Federal, State, and other banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking products, including lending, deposits, and investment areas.
  • Proficient in relevant banking software and Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • CFP or CHFC designation.
